The Joint Entrance Examination is comprised of two assessment phases to filter out candidates for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Aspiring engineers must appear for the JEE Main exam; qualified ones are eligible for the JEE Advanced exam. The exams are conducted by the official authorities (JEE Main by NTA and JEE Advanced by IITs on a rotational basis) in the months of January, April and May. • Age Limit: What’s your age? You should have been born in 1994 (for general candidates). For SC/ST and Persons with Disability aspirants, there is a relaxation of 5 years.
• Number of Attempts: A maximum of two times that too in consecutive years
• Class 12^th or Equivalent Exam: If you have taken or are taking the Class XII or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2018 or 2019, you can surely take the test.
• No Previous Admission at IITs: Since you will be appearing in the JEE Advanced 2019, ensure that you have no previous records of getting an IIT seat. If any IIT has cancelled the candidature of any applicant, he or she is not eligible.
